Industry Leaders Mark Milestone in Hawaii’s Growing Solar Industry

OutBack Power Technology Products Now listed in HECO’s Qualified Equipment List for Grid Support and Utility Interactive Inverters

Arlington, Wash. – December 4, 2017 – OutBack Power Technologies, Inc., a leader in battery based renewable energy products and systems, announced a significant milestone for its UL 1741 SA listed inverters with the recent inclusion of eight inverter/chargers on the November 24, 2017 update to the HECO Qualified Equipment List for Grid Support Utility Interactive Inverters and Controllers and Equipment for Customer Self-Supply Systems.

OutBack Power attained UL 1741 SA listing for several of its grid-interactive battery inverters by undergoing rigorous testing over the summer. UL 1741 SA is the testing standard used to certify compliance with HECO Rule 14H governing utility interconnection in the state of Hawaii. Their addition to HECO’s list of qualified inverters officially enables installers to deploy these inverters in HECO’s service territory.

Inter-Island Solar Supply has built an excellent relationship with OutBack over the last 17 years and their products represent an important part of our business,” said Brian Gold, president of Inter Island Solar Supply. “Having their inverters included on the Qualified Equipment List says a lot about their commitment to the market and willingness to support their customers as regulations continue to change.

Brandon Provalenko, vice president of commercial operations at OutBack Power added, “We are pleased to be recognized on HECO’s Qualified Equipment List for Grid Support. The process of meeting all listing requirements were rigorous, but we are dedicated to serving the Hawaiian market for both off-grid and solar plus energy storage applications.

OutBack Power Energy Express Roadshow Rolls into NABCEP

Renewable energy leader trains solar, electrical installers and professionals with energy storage for continuing education

Arlington, Wash. – March 22, 2017 – OutBack Power Technologies, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of advanced renewable energy products and systems, will bring the Energy Express, its energy storage-focused roadshow to the 2017 NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Continuing Education Conference. The Energy Express van will showcase several energy solutions to help solar installers grow their businesses, including OutBack Power’s ProHarvest line and the ICS Plus. The equipment on display at the show is designed for energy reliability and compliance, providing business owners, residents and installers with resilient platforms that adhere to the latest regulatory requirements.

The changing regulatory and policy climate can cause headaches for installers that need to stay current with new economic incentives, regulations and technology requirements. OutBack will showcase the ICS Plus, its integrated combiner solution, which provides arc-fault protection, advanced ground-fault protection and rapid shutdown. With the ICS Plus solution, OutBack Power is the only manufacturer with a UL1741-RSS-listed system from rooftop down to energy storage, helping installers meet current NEC 2014 and 2017 requirements. Also on display will be OutBack’s ProHarvest products, which are specially designed for rugged 3-phase commercial installations, expanding professionals’ opportunities across residential and commercial applications. NABCEP attendees will experience these offerings and other opportunities to train and expand their businesses with the arrival of OutBack Power’s Energy Express, providing training for both residential and commercial applications.

With the drastic economy and policy changes the energy industry is experiencing, solar professionals need to stay at the forefront of energy storage implementation, installation regulations and other compliance issues,” said Paul Daley, director of product management at OutBack Power. “Our team has championed continuing education for energy pros, from classroom training, sessions at shows like NABCEP, and now on the road with the Energy Express vehicle, ensuring installers and their customers know about every new opportunity to grow.
