Where is There a Users Manual Addendum for the Mate3S

Postby bpad on Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:35 pm

In the near future I will be upgrading from a Mate3 to a Mate3S. I started to look at the Outback Power documents to see if there was a "User Manual Addendum" covering changes between the Mate3 and Mate3S.

I could not find this. And noted that the last update to the Mate3 User Manual was May 2017.

Some input from product management:

OutBack does not currently publish a document showing changes from one set of literature to the next. The MATE3s documents include the Overview Guide, the Programming Guide, and the Menu Map. All are available at http://www.outbackpower.com/outback-pro ... ory_id=545.

"The equivalent documents from the MATE3 are located at http://www.outbackpower.com/outback-pro ... ory_id=545. The Owner's Manual for the MATE3 was superseded several years ago by the Overview Guide, Programming Guide and Menu Map. While it is still available from the website, it is no longer up to date.

Thanks for the links, David.

We can appreciate the absence of any specific delta document, but to save us a lot of exhaustive comparison of text, can you please share with us the essential differences between the MATE3 and the MATE3S? Are there functionality differences?

Thanks!

So I've had a look 'round the back of the shop... and we're fresh out of parrots.

I can offer up this, however:

-----

The MATE3s is a direct replacement for the (now obsolete) MATE3.
Aside from important hardware updates and bug fixes, the MATE3s has additional menu items to access the new Grid Support functions that are available on GS and FXR series A-01 inverters. This includes the ability to upload Grid Interface Protection (GIP) files as well as changes to the current sense and control resolution.

Currently, GS and FXR A-01 inverters will ONLY work with the MATE3s, regardless of whether the grid support functions are used.

-----

Please also have a look at the attachment.
Hope that helps.

David
