Device Map > Mate3 > AGS > DC

Post by JRHill » Sun Sep 13, 2020 4:30 pm

I was checking and making a few adjustments. I had just checked the inverter and controller settings and then checking the Mate3. Then I saw the DC settings. Huh?

Maybe I've breathed too much (tree) smoke. I looked through the manuals, really. I couldn't find anything for DC settings for the Mate3 but there they were in OpticsRE. I've looked around but I can't find an explanation for why the FNDC needs its own Absorb voltage and time separate from the FX and FM.

Best, Jim

*Just walks back in from manually starting the generator*

You are very close to Oregon, you may wish to check what kind of trees are burning.

Sorry, I only have smartmouthed comments and no clue about AGS.

They are for those rare setups that have a DC generator.

Well, maybe you hit it FCWLP. There is no other reason I can think of. Or:

Like, wow, man. This is really good smoke. Pass the chips, Dude.

Pretty sure they are for DC generator. Seem to recall them being labeled that somewhere in the past.

Yup. I believe y'all are correct about this setting being for a DC Generator. In the menu above DC, under generator type, the options are AC/DC/None. So if DC is specified this seems the only place to enter any parameters. Thanks for the clarifications, folks.

Also, the forecast changed - go figure. We did have 40% over night and 60% today of rain fall. Now its 20% per day through the end of the week. Also meaning 80% of nothing. The rain would obviously help with the wild fires but also important it would wash the air a bit. It's worse than bad. Headaches, sinus, coughing. 10 to 15% of normal solar generation. All jokes of the smoke content aside, there are many, many people worse off than us. I don't want to get into climate change stuff but we can attest to the fact that we are into our 8th year of drought - in our area. Next time you step outside and can take in a deep breath of fresh air, count your blessings.

Thx,
Jim
