An internal fan failure

Postby vincjwan on Tue Aug 25, 2015 12:22 am

I still have an internal fan failure two days ago ....
the fan is not working even if I restart the GVFX so what can I do before replacing it ....
can I use an external fan and remove exposed covers and direct the fan to the rows of transistors ???

thx

Do you have two GVFX units? Run on just one.

Order a fan replacement from OB. Take the inverter lid off. IIRC all wiring has to be removed to get the lid off anyway to replace the fan. See where you are at after that.

I can't remember if the unit depends on the cover to hold PCBs in place though. If so just wait for proper replacement to come.

After removing filter you may be able to turn blades to temp. free up frozen bearings. Keep your max power set down to prevent overheating.
